THE NMTF’s Young Traders Market 2024 campaign is attracting many more young entrepreneurs as word spreads and an increasing number of operators come on board.
Whilst the ultimate goal for all of them is to reach the national final in Stratford- upon-Avon — and perhaps win the title of Young Trader of the Year — there’s also a lot more going on before that main event over the August bank holiday weekend.
More than ever market operators have been encouraged to organise their own local events — and it’s worked.
But it’s still not too late for operators to join.

After the local events series there’s the
10 regional finals, kindly hosted by operators across the land.
The panel on the right gives you an indication of just how major the YTM project has become.
Above all YTM is about encouraging young entrepreneurs to try market trading and hopefully decide it’s the way forward for them.
2024 events up and running — starting in Southwark
A WHOLE series of Young Traders Market local events has begun and the first to be held this year was at The Blue Market in Bermondsey’s central market place.
The NMTF could not
stage such an ambition project as the Young Traders Market (now in its 12th year) without the help and support of market operators.
So many have now come to realise that encouraging young would-be entrepreneurs is one way of helping to secure the future of the retail markets industry.
Will one of these young hopefuls be crowned Young Trader of the Year at the August final?
