Julie Henderson has been running Bijou Creations in the market for the past seven years, selling her Scarborough-themed artwork and a range of attractive cards
Mark Nockels runs the market butchers which his grandfather started on the market 105 years ago
Jeff returned to the market after an 11 year spell selling caravans, and now has a menswear unit, vintage clothing and a babywear stall he has taken over with a plan to turn it into an artefacts stall.
“I just love selling to people and I love this market,” he said. If he has one criticism, it is a lack of signage which means that people tend to discover the market by accident as it is off the
main tourist track.
A council plan currently being
looked at could improve the market’s visibility. Penny said the council was looking at perhaps knocking down the old Argos building to make way for a square which could include seating and give the market hall greater visibility.
It could also allow for some outdoor stalls which could lead shoppers into the market hall.
Jeffrey Johns has a number of units on Scarborough selling menswear, vintage clothing and babywear
