Sarah Storey's key cutting, engraving, picture framing and leather work business has been a popular fixture on the indoor market at Mold for 25 years
Samantha Williams has launched a new business on Mold indoor market called The Sandwich Box
“The shoppers love it. Our stall is rammed a lot of the time,” he added. And praise for the market team is
widespread.
Fashion trader Graham Lynch said: “The
market is well run. Having it on the high street helps. And a lot comes down to the good, long-established core traders.”
And David Jones, who has been selling puzzle books, signs and Welsh-themed hats and gloves on the market for 20 years, said:
“I started here because it had such a good reputation and it is still a busy market.”
Traders in the indoor market are also positive. Sarah Storey runs a unit offering key cutting, engraving, picture framing and leather work.
She began trading with her father in the old indoor market which was knocked down and replaced by the current
building.
“We have been here 25 years and I have
been here for the past five years since my father retired.”
Like the other long-standing business that specialises in guitars, Sarah’s unit has lots of loyal customers and the breadth of her offer means there is always someone wanting one of her niche services.
And Samantha Williams is finding the friendly atmosphere and regular footfall a boon just weeks into starting a new business, The Sandwich Box, selling freshly prepared baguettes and paninis.
A registered nurse, Samantha gave up her job recently to care for her 18-year- old son who has health problems.
“I have always loved making nice food and this new business is perfect for me. It’s a friendly place to be and I can work around caring for my son,” she said.
And locals are already discovering her
delicious sandwiches, which in turn is bringing more shoppers into the indoor market.
